Welcome to the #ForCoral Pavilion – a dedicated space hosted at Centro de Eventos Valle Del Pacífico (CEVP) during COP16 by the International Coral Reef Initiative and coral reef community to showcase coral reefs and associated ecosystems.
Located in the Blue Zone from October 21 to November 1, the #ForCoral Pavilion will be open daily, offering a vital platform for discussions and initiatives focused on coral reef conservation.
The #ForCoral Pavilion stands as a critical platform for one of the world’s most threatened, yet valuable, ecosystems at the occasion of the UN Biodiversity Conference CBD COP16. It highlights the urgent need for coral reef conservation, fostering global collaboration and innovation to protect these vital marine ecosystems. As a beacon for collective action, the Pavilion aims to drive solutions that ensure the survival and resilience of coral reefs, emphasising their importance in the broader context of the Biodiversity Plan.
All event timings are in COT (GMT +5) and will be livestreamed [Link coming soon].
The #Forcoral Pavilion aligns with global biodiversity goals, promoting cross-sector collaboration to raise awareness of coral reef threats, advocate for stronger conservation policies, and emphasise the critical importance of coral reefs for biodiversity, costal protection and livelihoods. This will be done though:
